The reign of King Edward IV was significant in English history for a number of reasons. First and foremost, Edward IVs initial victory in the Wars of the Roses between the House of York and the House of Lancaster brought a brief respite to the struggle for control of the English crown. Additionally, it led to the rise of the first monarch from the House of York. Edward IV is remembered in the Queens Beast Series with two different emblems.

On the reverse of the 2020 British Silver Queens Beast White Lion Coin is the image of the White Lion of Mortimer with a Yorkist shield. The Yorkist shield the White Lion supports is traditionally shown with a white rose backed by the golden sun. The Wars of the Roses was so-named for the white rose emblems of the House of York and the red roses of the House of Lancaster.
